The Argentinian defender admitted that he had heard all the speculation after the Cantabrian club's president admitted on Wednesday that talks had begun with Barça.

But Garay does not want to be distracted as Racing are having an incredible season that could end in them qualifying for a European place.

"I have to say I knew that there was something," he explained.

"But what is said between the club and my representatives cannot affect me.

"I am only to going to continue to focus on Racing and think about improving all the time for the club."

The story was leaked after Barcelona held talks with Racing officials in the Catalan capital last week to try and secure a pre-contract deal.
