Pires To stay With Villarreal till 2009

Pires has penned a new deal which will see him stay at Villarreal till 2009. Robert Pires moved to Villarreal from Arsenal in 2006 but has a frustrating first season due to injuries.

But he has appeared for Villarreal regularly all this season and made 26 appearances and contributed to great deal and expressed his wish to stay with them and the coach Manuel Pellegrini has decided to reward his good performances with a new deal. Pires is delighted with his extension and has expressed his desire to stay for two more seasons.
