“Taking our circumstances into account, we played well. It helped to score the early goal but Barcelona had lots of chances after that and our goalkeeper did well to keep them out. “They deserved to win tonight” Stuttgart trainer Armin Veh admitted.
“We wanted to qualify for the next round but we've had lots of injuries which have held us back. Barcelona and Lyon were the better sides but we could have finished third as we're better than Rangers” he added.
“The good thing is that we're a young team and we're growing. The Bundesliga has great teams in it and everyone wants to qualify for the Champions League but we'll do our best to be back next season” he vowed.
