Rooney: "I want to play in all the games"

Wayne Rooney felt that injury had already forced him to miss too many games this season, so was not interested in being given a rest for Manchester United's Champions League game against Roma.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson left most of his top stars in Manchester for Wednesday's game, which finished as a 1-1 draw, but Rooney featured, for the first time as captain, and afterwards told Sky Sports News:
"I've missed enough games this season to be sitting out of any game.
"I want to play in all the games. I didn't want to miss any more, especially after the start of the season. It was good for me to have a run-out tonight.
"I think with each game you get fitter and I'm feeling good now. Hopefully the break I've had could help me towards the end of the season."
Rooney also feels that players like United's goalscorer, Gerard Pique, and Jonny Evans will benefit from the experience of playing against a top team like Roma.
He added: "It was a good experience for a lot of the younger players coming in to the team. They handled it well and we got a good result.
"To play Champions League, Roma away is a massive game for some of the young lads, but they have come in and done really well, and I think everyone is proud of that.
"A lot of players stayed at home and it was a good chance for the young lads. The manager showed great belief in them and it was a great experience to come and see what the Champions League is all about."
