Cicinho Starts Mind Games Against Real Madrid
Speaking to Sky Italia, Roma fringe man Cicinho insisted that three of his current teammates were being tracked by his former club, Real Madrid.
The Brazilian was speaking out ahead of the giallorossi's Champions League meeting with the Spanish capital giants, and raised the subject in an attempt to explain the strength of his squad. "We have the means to do well," he began. "We're strong, just like Real Madrid. I know for a fact, for example, that my former team was interested in three of our players - [Amantino] Mancini, [Daniele] de Rossi and [Alberto] Aquilani." The 27-year-old continued, "Our team is very strong, and we can succeed there. Perhaps I'll score my first Roma goal against them." The right-back would do well to establish himself as a regular before looking for goals, but he freely admits that his best is yet to come. "I've had difficulties so far because we have to play a much more physical game than I'm accustomed to," noted the former Sao Paolo man. "They also play the high ball more here. But, I think I'm improving and that the coach knows this. I hope to play more in the future. "The differences between [former Real Madrid coach Fabio] Capello and [Roma boss Luciano] Spalletti? My current coach likes to joke around - he's one of us. The older one, he never even laughed!" source:goal.com |
