Chelsea Face Selection Problems For Olympiacos Clash
Didier Drogba has declared himself available for Chelsea's Champions League tie in Greece against Olympiacos.
The Ivorian striker missed the Blues' weekend Cup win over Huddersfield Town with a knee injury but will have to fight for a start on Tuesday. For the first time since taking charge Avram Grant has a full squad of players to choose from for the next game, and competition for a spot in the XI will be extremely tough. Terry Is Back Chelsea received a massive boost on Saturday as John Terry returned and played the full 90 minutes having recovered from his broken foot. He even saved his side from conceding a second goal as he heroically cleared a ball off the line. "Every player needs instinct but you need to think too," said Grant of his captain. "You have to think about where the ball will come and react very quickly. "I didn’t plan for him to play 90 minutes but you never know with JT. I have stopped making plans with him. He is a great defender, a great player, a great leader. Didier has some problems but they are not big," he added of his striker, who has been working hard for the Olympiacos tie. "I was here at the (Huddersfield) game while he was training, so we will see.” source:goal.com |
