Wenger: Flamini has a similar style to Gattuso

Gennaro Gattuso is often held up as the bulldog spirit of AC Milan: tough tackling; passionate; always giving it his all.

Ahead of Arsenal's clash with the Rossoneri at the Emirates, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has said he sees a lot of Gattuso's qualities in his own midfielder Mathieu Flamini.

The Frenchman has broken into the national side this year and also established himself as an Arsenal regular, and Wenger praised his attitude.

"Flamini has a similar style to Gattuso because of his size and the fact he's always up for it," the boss told Arsenal's official website.

"Mathieu is mentally strong and is a winner. Players who never give up mentally always improve.

"He's responsible for the tempo in our game and he's key to that on Wednesday."
