Milan Recieve Kalac Boost For Gunners Clash
The Australian goalkeeper has been in superb form in recent weeks, but he was in doubt for the game at the Emirates with a dislocated finger.
With Nelson Dida out with a back injury, it had seemed that third-choice Valerio Fiori would take his place between the sticks. The 38-year-old Fiori has made just two appearances for the Rossoneri in eight years, and would have been making his Champions League debut. However Kalac trained at the Emirates Stadium this morning and seemed to give a clue that he would be fit to play after returning to the dressing room with a broad smile on his face. In other team news, latest reports suggest that 39-year-old Paolo Maldini will start at left back, with Daniele Bonera preferred to Massimo Oddo on the other side. Alberto Gilardino seems set to win the nod over Filippo Inzaghi up-front. The 25-year-old will be supported by Milan’s impressive midfield-five of Rino Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini, Clarence Seedorf and Kaka. Arsenal (probable): Lehmann; Sagna, Senderos, Gallas, Clichy; Ebouč, Flamini, Fabregas, Hleb; Adebayor, Eduardo Milan (probable): Kalac; Bonera, Nesta, Kaladze, Maldini; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Kaka, Seedorf; Gilardino source:goal.com |
