Clichy Confident Of Causing San Siro Upset

The two teams go into the last 16 second leg at San Siro with the tie delicately poised at 0-0.

"The boss told us before the first leg that Milan like their full-backs to provide the width so it is up to us to get in their final third and get crosses in," said Clichy.

"[Milan's tactics] could allow us to get forward more. I think with the pace we have plus the vision in midfield we have the quality to get at them and create chances, especially as they have to come out and attack.

"We nearly did it in the first leg so for the next one we can do it. We can show that, although Milan are a fantastic club, Arsenal are up-and-coming."

Arsenal are attempting to draw inspiration from the last time they travelled to San Siro in November 2003, when Thierry Henry was in inspired form as The Gunners thrashed Inter 5-1.

Clichy is confident they can repeat this successful outcome against Inter’s city rivals Milan.

"I was on the bench when we played Inter Milan and hopefully this time I can play and win the game," the Frenchman said.

"Of course we can win there again, this time against AC. We have shown the quality we have in the team and we certainly have the chance to do it there.”
